Still getting back into the flow of things — we hope you enjoy this, our second episode since firing back up the nuclear reactor that is Uncompressed. Still not a lot of news talk in this episode… It’s not like there isn’t any news going on, it’s just that there are so many damn games coming out that it is almost overwhelming. So, if you’re not into the gaming scene, this might be one to skip, but we hope you will give it a listen anyway — hopefully you will at least find the banter entertaining!

That’s right, we’re back.
After taking some time off to get our personal lives / careers in order, the U* team is hunkering down to start bringing you fresh content week after week. We are loosening the reigns a bit, so don’t be surprised if you hear a few words/comments/analogies that wouldn’t have made it through editing in previous episodes… As for how the format is going to be laid out for this second round of U* goodness — I have No. Fucking. Clue…
We just know there is an awful lot of cool stuff coming down the pipe industry wide, and we would be pained, PAINED, if we didn’t sit down to chat with you all about it.
So sit back and enjoy the ride kids. We hope you missed us, because we sure as hell missed you.
Podcast on Hold
May 2nd, 2007 9:03 pm by TonyJust thought I would post a quick update — Uncompressed is not dead, but is very much on hold at the moment.
As you regular listeners know, many of the U* staff have gotten new jobs over the past few months (Myself, Thom, Lynn, Matt…) and others have been extremely busy with work/families/etc. (Sean, Floyd, Tyler…) Because of all this, we really haven’t had the time required to put something like Uncompressed together with any sort of regularity.
I want to stress that we are not shutting down completely, and hope to return to regular podcasting in the not-so-distant future — but for right now we need to step back and get things in order outside of the podcast realm.

But in all seriousness, we have an awesome show for you this week. Despite being a few weeks behind, due to hectic schedules, we manage to get right back in the swing of things with a wide variety of tech and gaming topics. This week also marks the return of news girl Lynn Richter after she left the show a month or so back. The return of her segment brings back a bit of structure to the show so we can talk about topics such as the YouTube lawsuit, AMD’s financial collapse, new Xbox rumors, and $1000 pizzas, without all the dead air.

I don’t really even know what to say about this weeks show… Still largely unstructured, we rambled on for an awfully long time about Crackdown and Lord of the Rings: Online. At some point I seem to remember us trying to talk about real news like the recent Microsoft fine, and Skype wanting to get into the cellular market; but then it was back to gang members and orcs — because really, killing those two groups in a virtually crafted world is what we do best.
