Uncompressed Episode 27
Despite a lack of regular updates, the Uncompressed legacy forges forward with this, Episode 27. Even though schedules have been tight lately, we managed to round up Tony, Thom, Matt, and Sean to talk about Movies, Video Games, and ponder the mysteries of email related incontinence.
Some of the highlights on this weeks show included a discussion about Superman, Pirates of the Caribbean, Thom’s new PSP, Dell’s new relationship with AMD, the evolution of Digg, Google Calendar, Blu-Ray players and more!

Without a doubt - that ninja guy TOTALLY summed up my feelings about the movie. I waited at a mall for 4 hours to see that show (not in line, that’s just how many showings were sold out), and it wasn’t worth it. I even forgot to bring my DS!

Always bring your DS! Thats why I love my lite, it fits in my pocket whereas my old red one did not.
Its funny, Matt (who was on the show) *always* has his DS with him and we rarely ever play it when we hang out — but the *one* day we had some time to kill he had left it at home because “we were never playing it”.
Needless to say he carries it all the time again!

Thom - have you had any issues w/ your internet connect and Xbox Live? I picked up a 360 (it’s AWESOME!!) and noticed that my Internet drops every 45-60 minutes while I’m playing online or downloading a demo or something. Any suggestions?

I haven’t had any problems at all.
It’s probably your router. I have an old Linux-based Linksys WRT54g and it works like a champ.
My advice would be to make sure your router’s running the most recent firmware available for it. If that doesn’t solve it, it’s time for advanced troubleshooting to track down what device is causing your connection to die.

Evan hasn’t posted in a couple days. He probably killed his router flashing the firmware.

Haha nah. Not this time!
I replaced the cable modem (Motorola Surfboard 5100) w/ the 5120 and everything seems to be working now. I spent about an hour on the phone w/ Comcast trying to explain why I bought a new modem. All I wanted them to do was update serial number and the other number from the bottom of the modem. My downloads seem to be MUCH faster. How reliable is the speed test from over at Speakeasy? Have you guys ever tried it? I did a test out of NYC…
