It's not a big problem, and it was actually a huge relief when I realized all I had to do was reset the iPod. I originally thought the charger had fried the battery. One thing to keep checking is that you have the newest firmware for your ipod. The ipod updater: http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/ is the program that will update it. However, each time they release new firmware you need to redownload the whole program. It seems like they release updates about every 6 months or so. If I plug it in, it charges fine, but it never turns off, and will run the battery down even without playing in about a day. The only way to fix it is to do a soft reset of the iPod right after I unplug it. Kindof annoying. It seems strange that the iPod would have so many problems with 3rd party charging. Hrmm.
