PhysX Follow-up - [H] Editorial

PhysXHardOCP has a nice editorial weighing the advantages and disadvantages of PhysX in a little article called “Ageia PhysX & You

Given that we have talked about the PhysX card, along with the future of physics in games, on multiple shows, I thought that some of you might find it interesting. [H] brings up many of the same points Thom and I have about cost vs. performance, and the destandardization of physics engines. I was a bit disappointed that there was no mention of folding physics into an API such as DirectX 10 — I still think that would be the best way to bring these specialized hardware functions more into the mainstream.
