I loved the show. Probably gonna listen to it again in the morning.

I may not be a follower of Brother John Virgin … er… Potter mania… BUT I have read all the books and bought all the movies. I dont pick at a movie or book to much. If I enjoy it, I will read/watch it many times. I prefer to read the book then watch the movie. I like the movies when they match the images that the book created in my mind. Dune was a perfect example.

The Story is really rather simple without a lot of flashbacks, chapter size explanations, and some of the other things that writers try to put in to impress the people who give awards to books … not the people who read them. I found the “Potter” series to just be an enjoyable read. Nothing more … or less. To many TV shows forget that people just want to be entertained…. not entertained AND forced to learn a lesson in whatever the stars/producers pet projects are.

I believe that the death of Dumbledore may have been to give Snape a more trusted place with “he who should not be named”. After all …. if Dumbledore happened to have a Horcrux of his own floating around somewhere…….

I enjoyed the show. Mary was a nice addition. I wonder what Thom will do when he runs out of “Potter” stuff to bribe her with :) I also like the diversity of your shows. Bringing on “expert” guests for whatever subject your working on, is cool. Course the guys in the clan are a unique bunch of know-it-alls :P If you ever do a show on being old and grumpy …. let me know.

    Later dudes

Oh … TMusic rattles his papers to loud…..

  5. Tony Says:

LOL Gonger — if we do a show on grumpy old men I will be sure to pencil you in.

Interesting call on Dumbledore having a horcrux. I always associated the horcrux with dark wizards, but I suppose its a possibility. Doing this show last night got me jazzed about the next book, which sucks, because its going to be a while before it comes out. At least GoF is coming out on DVD soon!

Oh and thanks for continuing to post your little mini review/response after listening to each weeks show. I am always very excited to hear your take on what we discussed on each episode — im honestly disappointed more people dont do the same thing, because I think I can speak for Thom when I say we really get a kick out of reading stuff like that, and it really helps us gauge what we are (or arent) doing right based upon our audiences understanding and interest level.

    Thanks for posting!

I didn’t even have any papers to rattle! Gonger, I think you’re just crazy. ;) I really enjoyed doing the show… Tony and Thom, thanks again!

Good show guys (and gal) !!

I’m a friend of Floyd, and he told me about the Potter podcast cause my wife and I are potter fans.

The theory that Harry is gonna turn out to be the final horcrux makes a lot of sense. Although the fact that Voldemort has tried to kill Harry would seem to go against this theory. I’m speculating that Voldemort was unaware that he lost part of his soul to Harry during the attack when Harry was an infant. It would explain a lot of things like the parseltongue and the insight into Voldemorts mind. I think that Voldemort and Harry will both die in the end, but Harry will of course go out as the martyr. As for Hermione and Ron…..we’ll thats anybody’s guess.

  8. Tony Says:

Hi Brian, thanks for writing in!

I cant say that I disagree with anything you wrote. My thought on Voldemort trying to kill Harry is that the potential for Harry to cause harm to Voldemort outweighs the value of the horcrux — this would be even more true given how many Horcruxes he-who-should-not-be-named has. That being said, I think your speculation is very plausable, and wouldnt be suprised in the least if thats how it works out. Cheers!
